Nigerian Woman Sentenced to Death For Drug Trafficking in Malaysia

Barely a few weeks ago, four Nigerians were killed by firing squad in Indonesia for trafficking drugs – And on Thursday, a Malasian court a 30-year-old female Nigerian student, Mary George Unazi, to death after she was arrested at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, KLIA, on May 10, 2011 at about 3.pm with with 765.9 kg of metamphetamine….
According to Dailypost, Judge Datuk Ghazali Cha while delivering judgement said the prosecution has proven its case against the 30-year-old beyond any reasonable doubt as the 30-year-old student failed to prove that the bag containing the drug did not belong to her.
Unazi was however arraigned in accordance with Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries a mandatory death penalty…
